COOK COUNTY BAR ASSOCIATION TO CREATE LGBTQ SECTION

New Section of Oldest African-American Bar Association in the Nation to Focus on Issues in African-American LGBTQ Community

The Board of Directors of the Cook County Bar Association (“CCBA”) will meet in special session during the CCBA’s general membership meeting to vote on a petition to create the first-ever LGBTQ Section of the CCBA. 

The special session and general membership meeting will take place on Thursday, December 1, 2016 at 6:00 p.m., and will be held at:

The CCBA is the oldest bar association of African-American judges, lawyers, professors, and law students in the nation.  The creation of a section of the bar to address issues in the African-American LGBTQ community is a first-in-the-nation endeavor of its type that is gaining national momentum.  The press is invited to help memorialize this important event.
