CCBA Applauds the Nomination of Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson

Congratulations Judge Ketani Brown Jackson

The Cook County Bar Association would like to congratulate the Honorable Ketanji Brown Jackson on her new appointment to the United States Supreme Court.

After a 53-47 vote that included support from both Democrats and Republicans, the Honorable Ketanji Brown Jackson was confirmed to become the 116th justice of the United States Supreme Court.  When she is sworn in this summer, Judge Jackson will become the first Black woman to serve as a justice on the Court. 

Judge Jackson's sterling background and professional experience make her exceedingly qualified to join the Supreme Court.  Moreover, her poise and thoughtful responses during the confirmation hearings proved that Judge Jackson has the temperment and intellect to be an impactful member of the Court.  The Cook County Bar Association congratulates Judge Jackson on her historic confirmation, and we look forward to her service, hopefully for decades to come.
